With just two weeks until Targa Tasmania 2011, the Mazda Motorsport team have been doing the final evaluations and finishing touches to perfect its turbo-charge trio. The Mazda Motorsport team have been working around the clock in the weeks leading up to the gruelling five day motorsport event.

The duel Mazda RX-8 SPs will both be lining up at an intense testing session at Wakefield Park Raceway. This will be the ultimate evaluation of both cars in action and the final chance for the team to do any last minute fine-tuning to prepare the cars for one of the toughest tarmac rallies in the world.

Today, Mazda Motorsport witnessed a successful end to its Targa Wrest Point campaign with a division win, and a definite second position in Hobart.

The last day didn’t begin according to plan with the Mazda3 MPS of Reeves and Vandenberg having to face a brief electrical setback in the first of today’s stages. This dropped them from the overnight lead to seventh in the Showroom category.
